F-S Fillies Down EPTL

On April 25 the F/S Fillies traveled to Prophetstown to take on the Erie-Prophetstown-Tampico-Lyndon Panthers (EPTL). The Fillies batted first and wasted no time scoring their first run. Megan Nelson was walked stole second and third and scored on a double by Heather Andersen. Jordan Mann took the pitching responsibilities and the Filly defense held the Panthers.

In the second inning the Fillies continued to score. Beka Head singled and stole second, Alene Vandermyde singled, Andrea Vegter walked and Kyla Renkes walked to walk in a Head. Nelson singled to score Vandermyde and Vegter. Anderson doubled in Kyla, Mann singled and Callie Bush doubled in Andersen. The Filly defense again held strong leaving the score 6-0.

In the top of the third Vandermyde led off with a double and stole third. Vegter walked and stole second. Renkes sacrificed in Vandermyde and Nelson sacrificed in Vegter. Andersen tripled and was singled in by Mann. Again the defense held and the score was 9-0.

The top of the fourth brought a few changes. Trisha Beswick was walked, Head singled in Beswick and Vandermyde singled in Head. The filly defense held again leaving the score 11-0.

The Fillies did not score in the top of the fifth and allowed a run in the bottom of the fifth. The score ended at 11-1 and by the ten run rule the Fillies were victorious. Mann turned in another strong effort striking out two and getting great teamwork from the rest of the Fillies. The Fillies are now 14-2 and will meet Riverdale at their field Thursday Night.
