E85, “The American Fuel” is now available at FS Fast Stop on the East edge of Morrison. The tanker pulled in Wednesday, June 8 to fill the pump, which would hold the fuel.

E85 fuel is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent fuel, is a high-octane fuel, which is produced by the fermentation of plant sugars. The United States produces its ethanol from corn and other grain products, but it can be made from almost any agricultural feedstock. Ethanol fuel does not contain the toxic chemicals found in regular gasoline emissions. Ethanol is also non-toxic, water soluble and biodegradable. It reduces carbon dioxide, which is a major contributor to global warming.

Ethanol will strengthen the national economy and security. The United States imports more than one half of its oil and overall consumption continues to increase. By using E85, U.S. drivers will be able to help reverse this trend. Ethanol is “Made in America” from crops that are grown by American farmers.
