Brick Streets being uncovered |
|
Brad Blean and Mike Garland weren’t playing a game of “chicken” Thursday morning on Wall Street. They are continuing another step in a project, which started two years ago in uncovering the brick streets in Morrison. Morrison City Council gave the city crews the direction to remove the blacktop from the brick streets in an attempt of restoring the historical importance of Morrison and an ongoing attempt to improve the looks of the community. Main Street, from Orange to Heaton was the first street to be unveiled. Once the bricks are uncovered repairs are made as needed. The current project on Wall Street will also involve Orange to Heaton but may later involve an eastward removal from Orange to Jackson. According to City Administrator Joe Woith, “The positive comments made to the council and city far outweigh the negative comments. Morrison is known as a historic community and we are attempting to restore this historical part.” by Dawn Zuidema, theCity1.com |
