Descendants Needed for Parade

Are you descended from one of the earliest Morrison settlers?

If so, the Morrison Historical Society has an innovative plan to honor your ancestors during the sesquicentennial parade on Saturday, July 9. The Historical Society will enter a float that carries descendants of these families.

If your relative settled in the Morrison area between 1834 and 1855, we invite you to ride on our float. Signs that state the family (surname) and settlement date will be provided.

No period clothing is required. However, this is a splendid opportunity to wear your sesquicentennial t-shirt. There are four color choices and two designs available for $10 in adult sizes. Merchandise is available at the newly-opened Sesquicentennial Store, 218 W. Main, from 1:00 to 4:00 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Contact Historical Society Board president Judy McCulloh at 772-3224 if your family would like to display its heritage and pride during the parade.
