Madison Street Spa Open House

Vickie Vigen stand by her massage table at Madison Street Spa. Their open house is Wednesday from 4-7 pm.

A new business has started in Morrison with some familiar faces. Heather Eizenga-Bush and Vickie Vigen opened “Madison Street Spa” at 200 North Madison (above Hair Headquarters). They have combined their effort and are doing therapeutic massage and spa body treatments. Wednesday, September 17, the two are having an Open House from 4-7 with refreshments and door prizes.

Heather, a Morrison resident, was doing massages in the lower level of the same building. Vickie comes from Aledo, Illinois, and after marrying Steve Vigen moved to Morrison. She worked for Dr. Mance for 3 years before going to the Institute of Therapeutic Massage and Wellness in Davenport. For the last year, she has worked upstairs in the Beauty Hutch before moving to Madison Street.

“This is a great space,” explained Vickie, “ we have two rooms with tables and a portable chair. What’s really great is having a shower so we can do skin therapies and clients can shower after. And it’s also much quieter than where I was before for a relaxing environment.” All the walls are painted a relaxing dark yellow with very tranquil decorations, relaxing music, and bubbling water for a very soothing effect.

There are many types of massages. Most common is the Swedish Massage, which uses traditional muscle massage but they also do Hot River Stone, Sinus Relief, Facial, and Prenatal Massages. You can have a targeted massage to alleviate pain and improve flexibility.

While they both continue to do massages, Vickie has added Spa Treatments as something new. She has added: Foot and Leg Treatments and Body Wraps. To exfoliate the skin, have a Salt Glow or Body Polish. They will even do a Siddha Body Detoxification, a light compression massage with a bag of herbs and oils, which is used to detoxify the body. Herbology, Mudtherapy, and Aromasensory are several of the body wraps she will do.

Both women can use the massage chair for off-site massages. Businesses have asked them to come in for the day as a treat for their employees. Gift certificates can be used for Christmas, birthday, or special occasion. At Valentine’s Day, they work with other businesses to come up with a Valentine package. If you currently have a gift certificate from either former business, they will honor it. They have monthly specials and every time you have a massage they offer $5.00 off if you book your next appointment.
