September 10 Sheriff's Office Accident Report

On 09/10/19 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a single-vehicle roll over on Round Grove Road, about .25 miles north of Ward Road in Morrison, IL.  A Tanker Truck hauling diesel and gasoline, driven by Walter C. Arthurs, 59, overturned while traveling south bound on Round Grove Road.  The driver sustained minor injuries; he was treated and released at the scene.  Arthurs was cited for Too Fast for Conditions.  The Whiteside County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Morrison Fire and EMS, Johnson's Towing, and Mount Pleasant Township.

Morrison Police Report from August 30

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, August 30, 2019.

Arrests:  On Monday, September 2, 2019, at approximately 12:25 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Shantori D. Bell, age 35 of Clinton, IA.  The traffic stop occurred in the 600 block of E. Lincolnway and was for a moving violation.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Bell was issued citations for No Valid Driver's License, Failure to Signal, and Operating Uninsured Vehicle.  A passenger, Jessica K. Jenkins, age 28 of Clinton, IA, was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Vermilion County, charging Jenkins with Theft   Jenkins was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, September 5, 2019, Morrison Police issued ordinance violations for Public Fighting to Jeffrey A. Bos, age 61 of Morrison, IL; Charlie O. Johnson, age 64 of Morrison; Devontrey L. Cassiberry, age 19 of Morrison; Male Juvenile, age 17 of Morrison; Damon R. Kingdon, age 18 of Morrison.  The ordinance violations are the result of an investigation following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., in the municipal parking lot, 100 block of E. Market Street, Morrison.

Morrison Police Report from August 9

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, August 9, 2019.

Arrests:  On Saturday, August 10, 2019, at approximately 1:44 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Tony C. Coleman, age 22 of Chicago, IL, at W. Lincolnway and Olive Street, Morrison, IL, for equipment and moving violations.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Coleman was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended, Speeding and Obstructed Windows (Tint.)  A passenger, Ronald J. Bryant, age 21 of Chicago, was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Bryant with Failure to Appear-No Valid Driver's License.  Both Coleman and Bryant were transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  The Whiteside County Sheriff's Office assisted with this incident.

On Friday, August 9, 2019, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Randy M. Kath, age 52 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to a Body Attachment issued by Whiteside County, regarding a civil complaint/action.  Kath was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested and charged Devontrey L. Cassiberry, age 19 of Morrison, IL, with Unlawful Violation of an Order of Protection (No Stalking/Contact Order.)  The arrest is the result of an investigation of a complaint that occurred on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.  Cassiberry was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Friday, August 16, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked at Casey's General Store in Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested Sherri J. Boles, age 25 of Morrison, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Boles with a Violation of a Court Order.  Boles was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

August 16 Sheriff's Office Report

On 8-14-19 at 11:32 p.m., a 16-year-old Morrison Male was stopped in Morrison, IL, for a turn signal violation. He was cited for Improper Turn Signal and No Valid Driver's License – Graduated License Curfew Violation.  A 17-year-old Morrison Male passenger was referred to Whiteside County Juvenile Court Authorities for Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages.  Morrison Police and Hunter's Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-15-19 at 4:24 a.m., Taiwan J. Wilson, age 19 of Wheaton, IL, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at milemarker 23 and cited for Speeding – 35 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (107/70 MPH), No Valid Driver's License, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Wilson was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office and processed.  After processing, it was learned from DuPage County Sheriff's Office, that they took a stolen vehicle report shortly before 7:00 a.m.  It was for the same vehicle Wilson was driving when he was stopped at 4:24 a.m.  Wilson was taken into custody again, arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and remanded to the Whiteside County Jail on the felony charges.  Midwest Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-15-19 at 4:46 p.m., Timothy D. Platt, age 50 of Evanston, IL, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 near Lyndon Road for Unlawful Approach to a Stationary Emergency Vehicle Violation (Scott's Law).  He was cited for the offense and Civil Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On 8-16-19 at 2:08 a.m., during a motorist assist on Interstate 88 at milemarker 25, Ari D. Allen, age 42 of Chicago, IL, was cited for No Valid Driver's License and arrested on an outstanding Lee County Warrant for Failure to Appear – Driving While License Suspended.  He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed, and bonded without incident.  Morrison Police assisted on scene.

August 11 Sheriff's Office Report

On 8-9-19 at 11:05 p.m., Austin R. Krug, age 24 of Tampico, IL, was stopped in Tampico by Deputies for no front registration plate.  He was arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence, processed at the Sterling Police Department, and released on bond, pending a future court appearance.  Slim-n-Hank's Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-10-19 at 12:58 a.m., Joshua D. W. Wilson, age 30 of Freeport, IL, was stopped for improper parking/standing on a roadway.  He was arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence and Improper Parking/Standing Right Hand Curb, processed at the Sterling Police Department, and released on bond.  Illinois State Police, Rock Falls Police, and Slim-n-Hank's Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-10-19 at 3:32 a.m., Justin R. Fancher, age 30 of Dixon, IL, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at milemarker 36 and arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Speeding 84/70 MPH.  He was processed at the Sterling Police Department and released on bond.  Williams' Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-10-19 at 7:23 p.m., Rudy Onofre, age 23 of Berwyn, IL, stopped for speeding on Star Road at Felton Road.  He was cited for Speeding 80/55 MPH and No Valid Driver's License.  He was bonded on scene.

On 8-10-19 at 9:15 p.m., Carrie C. Ritemon, age 42 of Prophetstown, IL, was stopped at U. S. Route 30 and Moline Road for no front registration plate.  She was cited for No Valid Illinois Driver's License (Illinois resident longer than 45 days) and released with a Promise to Comply.

On 8-11-19 at 12:01 a.m., Austin W. Bender, age 27 of Lyndon, IL, was stopped for speeding on Moline Road near Walnut Road.  He was arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence, Speeding 84/55 MPH, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Then, he was processed at the Whiteside County Jail and released on bond.  Prophetstown Police and Todd's Towing assisted on scene.

On 8-11-19 at 3:38 a.m., Matthew C. Murphy, age 28 of Morrison, IL, was stopped for speeding on U. S. Route 30 near Blue Goose Road.  He was cited for Speeding 80/55 MPH and No Valid Illinois Driver's License (Illinois resident longer than 45 days) and released with a Promise to Comply.

On 8-11-19 at 5:00 a.m., Jhovani Castellanos Garay, age 23 of Denver, CO, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at milepost 26.  He was arrested for No Valid Driver's License, Speeding 86/70 MPH, and Failure to Secure Child (Under 8 Years of Age), processed at the Whiteside County Jail, and released on cash bond.  Todd's Towing assisted on scene.
