The School District is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the moving of residence within the District by Mr. Erik Carlson.  This has resulted in the need to appoint a member from outside the Mount Pleasant Township.

The appointment will be from April 13, 2010, until the election in the spring of 2011.  Please send letters or e-mails of interest stating why you want to be a member of the Board of Education and listing the township in which you reside.

Letters of interest must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2010.  It is anticipated that interviews and the appointment will likely take place at the regular meeting of the Board of Education on April 13, 2010.

A member of the Board of Education must

• be a United States citizen
• be at least 18 years of age
• be a resident of Illinois and the Morrison School District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
• live outside the Mount Pleasant Township
• be a registered voter
• not be a child sex offender
• not hold another incompatible public office and
• not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District.
